I was reading an interesting article the other day from Joyce Meyer, and there are a few points that really hit home with me. She asked three questions, and I want to share those with you today:
1. Have you ever said, “There just aren’t enough hours in the day?”
2. Do the “urgent” things crowd out the really important things in your daily routine?
3. Have you ever missed an opportunity because you weren’t quite prepared yet?
These questions resonated with me for the pure fact that I don’t make the most of every God-given opportunity in my life. I am either too busy, too tired, and too run down by daily routines to be intentional about my goals. Living in this fast-paced world leaves me frustrated about kids, career, errands, sports, distractions, last-minute planning and over-packed schedules. All this craziness overwhelms me with feeling exhausted and ineffective. So, what is a weary Mom to do when these feelings override any good intentions I have? Simply, lean on God…
God never meant for us to go through life feeling tired, exhausted, run down, and missing the opportunities He has placed before us. God wants us to enjoy our lives, experiencing His best for us every day! We have to submit every part of our lives to God (including our time) so we can allow Him to help us make the most of every opportunity.
When we learn how to make the most of the time God has given us – rather than letting time manage us – we’ll be amazed at the opportunities that open before us…and the energy we’ll have to seize them.
Don’t give up, dear Mom. The days are long, but the years are short. Submit your agenda to Him today…He will strengthen you to accomplish what needs to be done this day…
BE REAL – BE YOU
