I truly believe that our personal connection with God is the most important part of our days. I rely on God’s help for every area of my life. That’s why I love to start my day by spending what I like to call “Jesus & Me” time. It is nothing fancy, simply being still with my Heavenly Father and inviting Him into my day.
With all that is happening in our world these days, I particularly want to encourage you to set time aside each day to meet with Him and study His Word, because it will remind you of who God truly is…He is your Source (John 15:5).
Always Enough
When you feel like you’re running on empty, God’s Word will strengthen and encourage you in the Truth that He loves you, and He is not limited. He’s not the God of barely getting by, He is the God of more than enough (Phillipians 4:19).
God holds the answer to every problem in this life. That’s why it’s important for each of us to make time with God our top priority and seek Him diligently. To seek means we crave, pursue and go after something with all our might. When we realize we simply cannot stay strong in our faith and live right if we don’t spend time with God, we will pursue Him more than we do anything or anyone else.
I’ve experienced radical changes in every area of my life as a result of regularly seeking God. They didn’t happen overnight, but I can promise you time spent with God each day is what fuels you for every battle you will face. We can learn to be content in every situation as we live in Christ (Philippians 4:11) and enjoy where we are on the way to where we’re going.
One Day At A Time
We can’t change ourselves, but as we spend time in God’s presence, He changes us little by little, from the inside out (2 Corinthians 3:18). That’s how we fulfill our God-given potential.
I know it is not always easy to stay committed to having a daily time with God; there are many distractions in the world around us, and we can feel overwhelmed with all of the responsibilities we have to manage. But the truth is, the more stressed-out and overwhelmed we may be, the more we need to take time to be alone with God.
Falling Into Peace
As I make daily adjustments in my schedule to carve out my “Jesus & Me” time, everything else begins to fall into place. The more I spend time with Jesus, the more I realize He isn’t something you try to fit into your schedule, He is the priority to work your schedule around.
God is a person to know, not a place to go.
Don’t miss out on the biggest blessing of your day – carve out those “Jesus & Me” moments – it is time never wasted!
