Are You in a Trap?

Do you find yourself falling into a trap of looking at status, titles or numbers to validate your worth? The way we decide to measure success ultimately determines how we view our accomplishments.
God is not concerned about our status, title, bank account, or success. God is concerned about our character and our obedience to Him. Society urges us to compete, focus on what others think of us and stack our accomplishments against our peers.
Be Yourself
Being satisfied and content with yourself – who God created you to be – is essential to enjoying your life. If you are comparing yourself to others, you will constantly be frustrated and unhappy. God made you – yes you – as a unique, wonderful masterpiece with gifts, talents, and abilities equipping you to fulfill His purpose and plan for your life. Nobody in the world is exactly like you!
When you are tempted to say, “I wish I looked like her,” or “I wish I had her job” or “I wish my kids were that polite;” remember God made you exactly who He wants YOU to be. Don’t miss the beautiful life God has planned specifically for you by wishing you were someone else!
Take Action
Life is tuff, Bruh (as my teenage boys remind me – LOL)…and days of being a Mom can be overwhelming. In those tired moments, we look to relax and numb the noise by turning to social media. I want to encourage you this week to limit the social media – stop the comparison – and spend that time enjoying YOU!
Grab a notebook, write down three things each day that affirm who you are. These are the unique characteristics that make you – YOU. Not who the world says you are – but who God says you are. God is concerned about your character (who really are), not the one you might display to the world, but the REAL you. Embrace that – Be Real ~ Be You!
And NEVER be sorry for being you…
