Do you realize that you were created in the image of God? You are gifted with His love and a desire for Him to use you. Do you wear that proudly, or have you stuffed it in a closet in favor of something you think is better?
Don’t discount your abilities or the gifts that God has blessed you with. When things seem impossible, remember that you can wrap your arms around the Possible!
Comparison is usually the culprit to this defeat, and as much as we try sometimes, we simply give in. However, I want to encourage you today to embrace YOUR gifts! Maybe you are thinking, I don’t even have any talents, but I am here to tell you – YOU do! They are not like your neighbors, family or friends – but they are yours.
God uniquely gifted you to be just the way you are. Can you imagine telling your children, “Charlie, I really wish you were like Johnny – he is a great kid?” Of course, we wouldn’t say that. But, do we say that to ourselves? Our Heavenly Father has made us in the exact image that He wants us to be. He has gifted us differently for a divine reason; we are not to despise one another, but to encourage the pursuits of our dear friends. We need to remember – when one Mom wins, we all win!
We need to stop wishing to be someone else, because let’s face, “everywhere we go, there we are.” Humbling thought, right? So much truth in those words; it forces us to find contentment in the life that God has given us.
Life is hard…real hard…and I want you to embrace that you are wonderful just the way you are! Maybe your high school days were a nightmare, but those are in the past (thank the Lord!). Don’t let past failures or ridicules keep you from the great future God has planned for you (Jeremiah 29:11). Remember the best gifts are from the heart, not the store.
BE REAL – BE YOU!
