Ever feel you are one crisis away from CRAZY?
How about when the kids wanted to go play in the snow and their 30 minutes of play ended up costing you three hours of laundry! Wet clothes scattered all over the house can spark some pretty crazy feelings. Then, the homework (goodness, do I need to say anymore), it can cause the calmest Mom in the world to pull her hair out. And Moms, what about tweezing the ole’ eyebrows? I am seriously convinced they are just meant to be sisters, not twins. Exhausting, isn’t it?
Nevertheless, humorless issues invade our lives: medical diagnoses, a poor report from school, commissions cut at work, possible layoffs, marriage troubles, friendship misunderstandings, financial struggles… the list is truly endless.
Overwhelmed
Have you ever felt like giving up due to stress and anxiety caused by circumstances you couldn’t control? Our days can be spent frustrated, anxious, fearful, and even downright depressed. And though it’s easy to focus on our situations, it never helps.
Overwhelming conditions flood our daily lives producing a surplus of emotions, which in turn, makes us feel like we are crazy. Perhaps, there is a woman whom you look up to, who seems to always have it all together. She probably doesn’t even know you see her in that manner. Heroes have the appearance of always being brave. However, we must not confuse “always brave” as “never afraid.”
I can guarantee that dear woman whom you look up to deals with the same crazy feelings you do. Often fierce battles are won and enemies are conquered because they are simply the last one standing on the field. We must remember:
Bravery keeps you persistent.
Perseverance keeps you strong.
Faith keeps you grounded.
Life is filled with terrifying crazy moments, where the onslaught of fear paralyzes. In the midst of those trials, we get to choose our response. Allow fear to drive you instead of stopping you in your tracks. If fear rears its ugly head – just do it afraid!
Crazy Real Moments
Excuses are reasons stuffed with lies, and if we are not careful, they can be driving the car versus sitting in the back seat. In a quest, to control the crazy, we must learn our feelings cannot dictate our actions. Our journey of motherhood will be filled with crazy moments, some good and some bad. We need to step back, notice those blessings, and be grateful for the crazy life we are given.
Moms, your day-to-day routines while raising children can literally make you feel crazy! It is in those crazy real moments, I want to encourage you to keep on, keeping on. There is no one on this earth who can fill your place. Don’t let the roar of crazy silence your influence of calm.
